Dear Hon’ble members of the Association, it is a matter of great pleasure to see the progress of Haryana Agronomists Association over the years and with your support and contribution, it will grow to further the cause of dissemination of the knowledge in crop production as envisioned by its founding members. I am pleased to know that the Association is launching its dedicated web page for its greater visibility and impact in the present communication era.

Haryana Agronomists Association was formed in 1983 and registered on 26 Oct 1984 vide No. 447 by The Registrars of Firms and Societies, Haryana. It has 347 life members and 28 annual members. It has a glorious history. Starting from 1985, it has published 28 volumes (2012) of Haryana Journal of Agronomy (ISSN 0970-5414) which are widely circulated in several libraries in India and indexed by CAB, BIOSIS and USDA National Library. The association work on the sacred objective of improving production and productivity of different crops to improve the lives of millions of farmers with the hope to provide food for every one on the globe. The increase in input use efficiency and crop protection has been the thrust areas with sustainable production system. Looking into objectives of the association, the research on the above aspects is published regularly to share with the sacientific committee. The journal publish review articles, research papers and short communications on different aspects of agriculture in general and agronomy in particular.

After taking over by the new Executive Committee (EC) in Jan. 2013, the journal for 2011 and 2012 (Vol. 27 and 28) have been published. I hope the 2013 issue will be published in time. The case of NAAS rating has been submitted. The present EC is planning to organize a national level seminar next year. With the overwhelming response from the contributors, we may start to publish two issues per volume from next year. The sincere and dedicated hard work by the young and dynamic team is the spirit behind the improvement in the quality of the journal and designing of the web page.

I compliment the new EC for doing excellent job and hope we will be able to meet the expectations of the stake holders.
